Ingredients

For the Apple Fries
  • 2 large firm apples such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp cooking spray or melted butter

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting Board

Method

  1. Wash, core, and slice the apples into 1/4-inch thick fries. Peel if desired.
  2. In a shallow dish or zip-top bag, combine the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Lightly spray apple slices with cooking spray or toss with melted butter. Add them to the sugar mixture and toss until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Place the apple fries in a single layer in the basket, working in batches if necessary.
  5. Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For the crispiest results, do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes.
