Ingredients

Casserole Components
  • 2 cans (16 oz / 450g each) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits Quartered
  • 1.5 cups (350ml) thick pizza sauce Vibrant red
  • 2.5 cups (280g) shredded mozzarella cheese Low-moisture, whole milk
  • 5 oz (140g) pepperoni slices Thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp (2g) dried oregano flakes
  • 0.5 tsp (1g) black pepper Freshly cracked
  • 0.5 tsp (3g) garlic powder

Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch white ceramic baking dish Essential for even baking and presentation.
  • 1 Kitchen shears or knife To quarter the biscuits.
  • 1 Large Mixing Bowl To toss biscuits in sauce.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease your 9x13 inch white ceramic baking dish with olive oil or non-stick spray.
  2. Cut each of the biscuits into four equal pieces using kitchen shears or a knife. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
Assembly
  1. Pour the pizza sauce and garlic powder over the biscuit quarters. Toss gently until every piece is coated in a thick layer of sauce.
  2. Transfer the sauced biscuits to the prepared baking dish, spreading them into an even layer.
  3. Evenly distribute the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top, followed by the pepperoni slices.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbling with toasted golden patches and the biscuits are cooked through and fluffy.
  2. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with dried oregano and black pepper while the cheese is still molten. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use a white ceramic dish to ensure the biscuits cook evenly without burning the bottom.
If the cheese browns too quickly, tent the dish with foil for the last 10 minutes.
