Ingredients

  • 16 ounces cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese freshly grated
  • 1 ounce packet dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/4 cup green onions finely chopped
  • 1 cup pecans toasted and finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup bacon cooked crispy and crumbled

Equipment

  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Electric mixer
  • 1 Plastic Wrap

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, grated cheddar cheese, dry ranch seasoning, and green onions with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and fully combined.
  2. Transfer the cheese mixture onto a large piece of plastic wrap. Use the wrap to help form the mixture into a ball. Wrap tightly and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  3. In a shallow dish, combine the chopped toasted pecans and crumbled bacon. Unwrap the chilled cheese ball and roll it in the mixture, pressing gently to coat the entire surface.
  4. Transfer the cheese ball to a platter and serve with your favorite crackers, pretzels, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

Make-Ahead Tip: The cheese ball can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored tightly wrapped in the refrigerator. Roll it in the bacon and pecan coating just before serving for the best texture.
Ingredient Tip: For the best flavor and texture, use full-fat block cream cheese and grate your own sharp cheddar cheese from a block.
