Ingredients

Cowboy Butter Components
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter High-quality or European-style
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley Finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced very fine
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes For visual pop and heat
  • 1 tsp Lemon Zest Freshly grated
  • 1/4 tsp Sea Salt Fine grain
  • 1 thick slice Artisanal Bread Toasted for dipping

Equipment

  • 1 Small heavy-bottomed saucepan Used for even melting
  • 1 White Ceramic Ramekin For serving

Method

Prepare the Base
  1. Place the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Melt slowly until it reaches a clear, golden liquid state. Do not brown.
  2. Remove from heat. Immediately whisk in the minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and lemon zest so the residual heat blooms the aromatics.
Finish and Serve
  1. Stir in the finely chopped parsley and sea salt until well combined and the herbs are floating in a dense layer.
  2. Pour into a white ceramic ramekin and serve alongside a slice of toasted artisanal bread on a stone surface.

Notes

Use European butter for a more vibrant yellow color.
Adjust red pepper flakes based on your heat preference.
