Prepare the Dough
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Whisk flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and yogurt. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth and tacky.
- Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 60-90 minutes until doubled in size.
Cook and Glaze
- Divide dough into 8 pieces. Roll each into a 1/4 inch thick oval.
- Melt butter with minced garlic for 2 minutes. Stir in half the cilantro.
- Cook dough in a hot dry skillet for 30-45 seconds per side until large bubbles form and char spots appear.
- Brush hot naan with garlic butter and sprinkle with remaining fresh cilantro.
