- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef. Drain off excess fat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 4-5 minutes until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the marinara sauce and diced tomatoes. Season with oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir until everything is well combined and the pasta is coated in the sauce.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Top with the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden.
Notes
For best results, use freshly shredded cheese as it melts better than pre-shredded varieties.
Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes after baking. This allows it to set, making it easier to serve.
