Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Use a good quality, full-fat mayonnaise for best results.
  • 1/2 cup sour cream Full-fat sour cream provides the best texture.
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk Add more or less to reach your desired consistency.
  • 1 tsp dried dill
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp dried chives
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt Or to taste.
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper Freshly ground is best.

Equipment

  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Whisk

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth.
  2. Slowly pour in the buttermilk while continuing to whisk until the dressing is well combined.
  3. Add the dried dill, parsley, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  4. For best results, cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Stir again before serving.

Notes

Consistency Tip: For a thicker dip-style ranch, reduce the buttermilk to 1/4 cup. For a thinner dressing, add more buttermilk, one tablespoon at a time.
Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
