Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 package (340g) Hawaiian Sweet Rolls 12-count pack, kept connected
  • 8 oz (226g) Sharp Orange Cheddar Sliced or freshly shredded
  • 1/2 cup (115g) Salted Butter Melted
  • 1 tsp (0.5g) Dried Parsley Flakes

Equipment

  • 1 Large Non-Stick Skillet Or a cast-iron griddle.
  • 1 Serrated Knife For slicing the rolls horizontally.
  • 1 Pastry Brush To apply the butter glaze.

Method

Preparation
  1. Keep the rolls connected and slice the entire grid in half horizontally with a serrated knife.
  2. Layer the sharp orange cheddar over the bottom half of the rolls, ensuring it covers the entire surface.
Cooking
  1. Melt 2 tbsp of butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Place rolls in the pan and press down with a heavy weight. Cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Flip the grid. Brush the toasted top with the remaining melted butter and sprinkle with dried parsley. Toast for another 3 minutes until cheese is overflowing.

Notes

Use medium-low heat to prevent the sugar in the rolls from burning before the cheese melts.
Pressing the rolls with a second pan ensures the signature crisp, charred texture.
