- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the chicken breasts dry. In a small bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Season the chicken on all sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add BBQ sauce and Worcestershire sauce, stirring and scraping up any browned bits. Simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Transfer to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the skillet from the oven. Sprinkle both cheeses and the crumbled bacon over the chicken. Return to the oven for 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for a few minutes. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately.
Notes
For best results, use freshly shredded cheese as it melts better than pre-shredded varieties.
A cast-iron skillet is ideal for going from stovetop to oven, but a regular skillet and baking dish will also work.
Ensure chicken breasts are of a similar thickness for even cooking.
