Layering Process
- Starting with Purple, whisk the colored gelatin and 1 tsp unflavored gelatin with 1 cup boiling water. Stir until clear. Add 1/2 cup tequila and 1/4 cup cold water. Pour into the 9x13 dish.
- Refrigerate for 20-25 minutes. The surface should be tacky to the touch but not liquid.
- Repeat the process for Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, and finally Red. Allow each mixture to cool slightly before pouring gently over the back of a spoon onto the previous layer.
Finishing the Wands
- Chill the full stack for at least 4 hours. Unmold and cut into 1x4 inch rectangles using a hot, sharp knife.
- Insert a wooden stick into the bottom (purple) end. Mix the sugar and silver glitter in a shallow bowl. Roll each wand in the mixture until heavily encrusted.
Notes
Ensure each layer is lukewarm before pouring to prevent melting the layer below.
