Prepare the Filling
- In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and strawberry reduction until smooth and pale pink.
- Place filling in the fridge for 15 minutes to firm up slightly for easier assembly.
Assemble Wontons
- Place 1 tbsp (15g) of filling in the center of a wonton wrapper. Brush edges with egg wash, fold into a triangle, and press firmly to remove air.
Fry and Garnish
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry wontons for 1-2 minutes per side until bubbly and golden-brown.
- Drain on a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with strawberry sauce, and serve with fresh strawberry slices.
Notes
Do not overfill or the wontons will burst in the oil.
