Ingredients

Slider Components
  • 32 oz Frozen Tater Tots Approximately 900g; high-quality for maximum crisp.
  • 1 lb Ground Beef 450g, 80/20 blend for juiciness.
  • 4 slices Yellow Cheddar Cheese 85g, cut into small squares to fit the patties.
  • 1 tsp Dried Parsley Flakes For garnishing the tops.
  • 1 tbsp Neutral Oil For searing the beef.
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt To taste.
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Coarsely ground.

Equipment

  • 1 Cast Iron Grill Pan Essential for creating visible grill marks on the patties.
  • 1 Baking Sheet Lined with parchment paper for crispy tots.
  • 24 Wooden Toothpicks Used to secure the slider layers.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Arrange tater tots on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until deep golden-brown and crispy.
  2. Form ground beef into 24 mini patties (approx. 1 tbsp each), slightly wider than a tater tot. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a grill pan over medium-high heat. Sear patties for 2 minutes per side until grill marks are visible. Top with cheddar squares in the last 30 seconds to melt.
  4. Place a cheese-topped patty between two crispy tots. Secure with a wooden toothpick and sprinkle with dried parsley flakes.

Notes

Use a round cutter to make perfectly uniform patties.
Ensure the tots are extra crispy so they don't get soggy from the meat juices.
