Ingredients

Cheeseburger Bombs Ingredients
  • 1 lb refrigerated pizza dough Divided into 8 equal portions.
  • 1 lb lean ground beef 80/20 blend, drained after browning.
  • 1.5 cups sharp yellow cheddar cheese Freshly shredded.
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter Melted, for the glaze.
  • 2 tbsp grated white parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp fresh green parsley Finely chopped.

Equipment

  • 1 Dark metal baking sheet Essential for achieving a crisp, golden brown bottom crust.
  • 1 Cast Iron Skillet Perfect for deeply browning the ground beef.

Method

Preparation and Baking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook until completely browned and no pink remains. Drain excess fat and let cool slightly.
  2. Divide the pizza dough into 8 equal portions. Flatten each piece into a 4-inch circle, keeping the center slightly thicker than the edges.
  3. Place 2 tablespoons of the seasoned ground beef and 2 tablespoons of shredded yellow cheddar cheese into the center of each dough circle.
  4. Pull the edges of the dough up and over the filling, pinching tightly to seal. Roll gently to form a smooth ball. Place seam-side down on a parchment-lined dark metal baking sheet.
  5. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-18 minutes until the dough develops a deep golden brown crust.
  6. While baking, mix melted butter, grated parmesan, and chopped parsley. Immediately brush the hot, baked dough balls with the glistening butter glaze upon removing them from the oven.

Notes

Chill the beef filling for 10 minutes before stuffing to prevent the dough from softening prematurely.
Pinch the seams firmly to ensure the melted cheddar does not leak during baking.
