Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cans (21 oz / 600g each) Strawberry Pie Filling Deep red sauce foundation
  • 1 cup (150g) Fresh Strawberries Hulled and left whole for texture
  • 8 oz (225g) Cream Cheese Softened to room temperature
  • 1/4 cup (50g) Granulated Sugar To sweeten the cheesecake dollops
  • 1 tsp (5ml) Vanilla Extract For flavor depth
  • 1 box (15.25 oz / 432g) Yellow Cake Mix Forms the craggy crust
  • 3/4 cup (170g) Unsalted Butter Melted for a golden finish

Equipment

  • 1 Clear Glass 9x13 Baking Pan Allows for even browning and visual monitoring.
  • 1 Hand Mixer For whipping the cream cheese dollops.

Method

Prepare the Pan
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the strawberry pie filling into a clear glass 9x13 pan and spread evenly.
  2. Distribute the whole strawberries across the filling, pressing them slightly into the sauce.
Create Cheesecake Layer
  1. Whip softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth and airy.
  2. Drop tablespoon-sized dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberries. Do not stir.
Top and Bake
  1. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the layers, leaving the surface craggy and uneven.
  2. Pour melted butter over the cake mix. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is golden-brown and filling is bubbling through the crust.

Notes

Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps.
Let the cake rest for 15 minutes after baking to set the strawberry sauce.
